Aligning tourism with conservation
Create and implement a national code of conduct for tourism operators in areas critical to monk seal survival.
70% of key tourism businesses in high-impact areas have adopted sustainable practices to reduce threats to monk seal habitats.
Tourism activities, while economically important, can unintentionally harm monk seal habitats. To address this, SEAL GREECE is developing a national sustainable tourism Code of Conduct. This official framework will guide tourism companies—especially those operating in sensitive seal habitats—toward environmentally responsible practices. The project aims for at least 70% of key tourism actors in identified areas to have adopted this code, promoting coexistence.
